Lessons
“And when you say: ‘Give me also a share in these gifts which you have found so helpful,’ I reply that I am anxious to heap all these privileges upon you, and that I am glad to learn in order that I may teach. Nothing will ever please me, no matter how excellent or beneficial, if I must retain the knowledge of it to myself. And if wisdom were given me under the express condition that it must be kept hidden and not uttered, I should refuse it. No good thing is pleasant to possess, without friends to share it.” - Seneca, Letters from a Stoic 6.4
Over the more than 20 years I have been a musician, one of the most important and fulfilling parts of my journey has been to share what I have learned with other musicians.
Guitarists, vocalists, and song-writers—experienced and aspiring—are welcome to book a one-on-one lesson with me over Zoom where we can work on:
-
Building a strong musical foundation
-
Finding your musical voice
-
Building strong practice habits
-
Developing a lifelong relationship with music
-
Managing your time
-
Building a practice routine that works for you
-
Using Ableton Live for production and live looping
These sessions will combine elements of traditional lessons (technique, theory, ear training, learning songs, songwriting and production basics, etc.) and coaching—emphasizing what I call "building a musical life." I teach using the best I’ve learned through my experience as a musician, singer-songwriter, and educator, while including tools and strategies from the worlds of productivity, habit building, lifestyle design, psychology, and philosophy.
It is my intention to help serious musicians make music a part of their lives in an effective and sustainable way.
The lesson options are:
One-time, one hour lesson with personalized practice plan - $100
One-time, half hour lesson with personalized practice plan - $50
Weekly one hour lesson - $80
Weekly half hour lesson - $40
Fill out the form below if you would like to schedule a session. Please include some details about your experience with music, and two to three specific things you would like help with.
I look forward to working with you!
